Approaching her Championship, Ayva & Christopher are one step closer!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

The Avatar gang headed down to Charlotte, N.C. for what proved to be an exciting adventure at the VCA 2009 Nationals . Along with Eddie, Jackie, Dillon , Marley & Taylor was little Ms Brittania’s Casey Wetherbee, a bold little vizsla girl that came along for her first big show. It was
a truck packed with dog food, leashes, poopy bags, treats, blankets & beds, barely enough room for the two humans leading the pack!! After a 12 hour trip to Charlotte, the gang (minus Ms Casey, who decided to hang with her gal-pals) ordered room service & crashed. The days that followed were a blurr of red dogs, friends & family (oh & a trip or two, maybe three or four, to the dog park!). The team Avatar was HOT !! Max & Ayva both placed in their sweepstakes classes, shining amongst the large entries. Dillon WON his Veteran class in Sweepstakes & placed 2nd in his Regular Veteran class, all at nearly 11 yrs old!! Indie won an AOM for the 4th year in a row at the VCA Nationals -WOW!! And then the moment that the tears flowed, Dillon took a 4th in the Stud Dog class, competing against some lovely & much younger dogs with their get.
Finishing off the day with smiles on our faces, we cheered for Kayla as she won the first brace, finishing off a very long couple of days of competition.
The Vizsla Club of the Carolinas hosted a specialty the day after the VCA Nationals & again Max placed in his sweepstakes class, sister Ayva WON her sweepstakes class, then went on to WIN the 12-18mo bitches class!! We continue to be so proud of Christopher handling Ayva to near perfection, giving the crowd something to really cheer about!! We wish them continued success in the show ring.

Taylor & Jackie headed off to NJ for the Specialty weekend that included Tuxedo Park KC, Somerset KC & the Westchester KC shows. The first day of the weekend Taylor started the ball rolling by winning BOS with handler Carissa helping him to really shine!

After spending the night with good friends (including a romp with dog-pal "Bear", a 2 year old Bijapoo that kept Taylor busy hunting chipmunks!),the Somerset Hills KC Vizsla specialty proved to be another great day for Avatar Vizslas. Miss Ayva & owner handler Christopher floated around the 12-18mo bitches sweepstakes ring taking the class by storm, then going on to win BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES !!
Another very special win came when
Kayla won
BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPSTAKES , a title she had won two days prior at the BASS show! And when
Indie won an
AWARD OF MERIT , we were elated with soo many wins for Avatar Vizslas!!
The Westchester KC show, with the Lyndhurst Castle overlooking the Hudson River, is the backdrop for the VCGNY specialty, the final show of the three day weekend. It was a beautiful day for a dog show, & show they did. Again winning BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPSTAKES , was Kayla , who seemed to be a ball of energy & enthusiasm! A very special AWARD OF MERIT was given to Baci , out of the veteran class !! We are so proud of these two beautiful dogs & their accomplishments, sired by our first Vizsla, Dillon !
On the west coast Max wins Best of Winners for a 5 point major, keeping the Avatar winning streak on a role. We look forward to seeing him at the Vizsla Nationals in October. He has been spending a lot of time hunting birds, but cont inues to shine in the show ring! And we are sure Ayva will be very excited to see her brother… it has been a long time since they kept each other warm on the couch!!
