An Avatar weekend!!
Taylor & Jackie headed off to NJ for the Specialty weekend that included Tuxedo Park KC, Somerset KC & the Westchester KC shows. The first day of the weekend Taylor started the ball rolling by winning BOS with handler Carissa helping him to really shine!
After spending the night with good friends (including a romp with dog-pal "Bear", a 2 year old Bijapoo that kept Taylor busy hunting chipmunks!),the Somerset Hills KC Vizsla specialty proved to be another great day for Avatar Vizslas. Miss Ayva & owner handler Christopher floated around the 12-18mo bitches sweepstakes ring taking the class by storm, then going on to win BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES !!
Another very special win came when Kayla won BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPSTAKES , a title she had won two days prior at the BASS show! And when Indie won an AWARD OF MERIT , we were elated with soo many wins for Avatar Vizslas!!
The Westchester KC show, with the Lyndhurst Castle overlooking the Hudson River, is the backdrop for the VCGNY specialty, the final show of the three day weekend. It was a beautiful day for a dog show, & show they did. Again winning BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPSTAKES , was Kayla , who seemed to be a ball of energy & enthusiasm! A very special AWARD OF MERIT was given to Baci , out of the veteran class !! We are so proud of these two beautiful dogs & their accomplishments, sired by our first Vizsla, Dillon !
On the west coast Max wins Best of Winners for a 5 point major, keeping the Avatar winning streak on a role. We look forward to seeing him at the Vizsla Nationals in October. He has been spending a lot of time hunting birds, but cont inues to shine in the show ring! And we are sure Ayva will be very excited to see her brother… it has been a long time since they kept each other warm on the couch!!

NEW JUNIOR HUNTER 5/09
After much hard work by trainers Richard, Steve & Hejin Hanna, & Dick Kraft, Max , Boardwalks Avatar Coast To Coast (Chatter/Tosci), has earned his Junior Hunter. We are so proud of Max , & thank everyone who worked to help him to earn this title. As a puppy we knew he would be a great bird dog & he has proven himself so at the young age of 10 months. Max is continuing his bird work doing field training, he is far ranging and Richard thinks he is a natural!!

On a rainy, foggy day Ed, Jackie & the boys set out for a visit to Salt Point NY to visit with their friends Christopher & Christine Arnone & their girls Ginger & Ayva. The dogs we excited to run on the 10 acres of property & swim in Wappinger Creek. While the dogs had a good nap we all headed to the Millbrook Vineyards & Winery for a tasting & some delicious food under tents on the “130-acre estate with 30 acres under vine” with a gorgeous view of the rolling hills of Millbrook NY. The sun had come out just in time for us to really enjoy ourselves.
On return to the Arnone’s we treated the dogs to some bird work (Christopher has a beautiful setup for his chuckers, hens & roosters). Ed & Christopher worked Taylor & Ayva on birds until their tounges were hanging & then back to the creek for a cooling off before our ride home to LI. Thanks again to the Arnone’s for a great day, & for giving little Ayva a great home!!

VCLI hunt training day (Feb ‘09)
![]()
On a cold but sunny day in February Taylor joined the VCLI gang to do some bird training. Rich was the man with the birds & Taylor was ready. He is steady to shot & working very hard on his retrieval skills hoping to run in senior hunt trials with Eddie & trainer Steve Anker who works with our “red dogs”. Steve thinks Taylor may be able to be a master hunter some day!! Ayva was a star with her owner Christopher, finding & pointing birds like her mother Chatter & grandfather Marley. We know the Arnones will continue to work with her refining & mastering her natural instinct. It was great to see her, happy here with her “prize”!!

NEW CHAMPION!!!
The GSA Specialty in Secaucus NJ the weekend of February 6th turned in to a very special weekend for Avatar Vizslas. This specialty dog show weekend brings many competitors from around the country to "warm up" for Westminster. Taylor was on another adventure, he had won Best in Sweepstakes as a 7 month old puppy the year before & had some big shoes to fill! As usual we found a local place for Taylor to stretch his legs, then headed in to the ring to show off. It was a tough competition at the CCVC Specialty show, Bred By Exhibitor class & Taylor with Britt handling sailed through the class win. Judge Ms Judith Goodin awarded Taylor with Winners Dog, a 4 point major to complete his title of CH. Brittania’s Taylor Made For Two !! After celebrating with some steak & getting a good nights sleep, Taylor went on to compete with the Best of Breed class the rest of the weekend, looking like the star that he is. It was a very exciting weekend for Avatar Vizslas!! Special thanks to Britt co-owner of Taylor for finishing him out of the Bred By Exhibitor class! Taylor is already working on perfecting his hunting skills, on to his next venture…
